SLES / Employment Supports

We support young men with disabilities aged 13-25 transition from school to the workforce

We are supporting young men with disabilities aged 13-25 transition from school to the workforce through their SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports) / Finding and Keeping a Job Funding. Our individualised approach ensures your young man is ready for work!

How do we provide SLES and Finding and Keeping a Job Supports?

Step 1: Discovery 🔍

We start by learning about your young man’s skills, interests, hobbies, and employment goals. By interviewing family members and friends and observing your young man in the home and community environments. We narrow down potential employment and work experience opportunities and identify the skills needed to support his journey to becoming work-ready.

Step 2: Skill Development 🛠️

With a clear understanding of the required skills, we begin upskilling your young man in those areas of skill development such as communication skills, goal setting, resume writing, interview preparation and more. We develop and refine the identified skills for your young man hand in hand with step 3.

Step 3: Work Experience / Paid Employment 💼

We continue upskilling your young man in the identified areas of skill development and we search for potential work experience and paid employment opportunities to give your young man a taste of the workforce, helping him refine his future employment path.

Step 4: Ongoing Support and Mentoring 👥

We provide ongoing onsite support and mentoring, addressing any challenges that arise in the workplace. We continue to refine and refresh his skills as needed.

Success Story!

One of our participants, Guy, has launched his own IT service called Guy’s IT Service, where he assists local residents with IT-related issues. Guy helps people learn how to use their electronic devices, builds computers, and solves internet issues in his community. We are incredibly proud and excited to see what comes next for Guy and Guy’s IT Service!
